How to determine the door opening direction (right/left)?
The direction of the door's opening, right or left, is determined by looking at it from outside the room or building in which it is installed. Of key importance is whether the door opens outward or inward, and on which side the hinges are located, as indicated in red in the figures below. Knowing these details makes it easy to determine the type of door and match the right solution.
Doors opening inwards
- Left-hand door: When the door opens into the room and the hinges are on the right side (looking from the outside), it is a left-hand door.
- Right-hand door: When the door opens to the inside of the room and the hinges are on the left side (looking from the outside), it is a right-hand door.

- Left-hand door: If the door opens to the outside of the building and the hinges are on the left side (looking from the outside), it is a left-hand door.
